Deokie Ramlochan-Ramjohn, Board Chair and Director of Corporate Services at AlgEternal Technologies LLC.

Ms. Deokie Ramlochan-Ramjohn, a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, serves as the Director of Corporate at AlgEternal Technologies, LLC (AET), a company focused on the sustainable application of microalgae as an alternative to fossil hydrocarbons. Deokie holds an MBA in Marketing from University of Bedfordshire; B.A. in Business Management, from Herriot-Watt University, and a Professional Certificate in Events Management from the George Washington University School of Business. Deokie has over 20 years’ experience in providing Corporate Services Support and Management in increasingly senior roles both in the private and public sector. 

Deokie provides critical Corporate Services Management support to AlgEternal, reviewing, amending, and creating where necessary, the internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure that the Company meets and exceeds internal and statutory reporting requirements.  She manages a team that supports marketing, procurement, logistics, accounting, and bookkeeping services for AlgEternal, to ensure that the Company maintains good Corporate Governance Standards.  She is methodical, comprehensive, and anticipates the needs of the organization ensuring that operations run smoothly and without interruption.  A logistics and planning expert, Deokie manages all Corporate events, planning and executing from the sophisticated and elegant to the informal and impromptu, within budget and on schedule. Deokie is also the Brand Ambassador for the AlgAllure® skin care, produced by AlgEternal. 

Deokie is a board member with Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area representing Fayette County and La Grange Noon Lions Club. In her spare time, Deokie enjoys spending time with family, cooking, traveling, shopping, volunteering, and exercising.


Davis (Mac) Brooks, Board Vice Chair and Co-Owner of Mac’s Daqs Bar & Lounge

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, is a co-owner of Mac’s Daqs Bar and Lounge in La Grange, and a proficient Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst at Capitol Market Research in Austin, Texas. Mac pursued his higher education in Louisiana, where he met his fiancée, Kelsey. He then advanced his academic journey at Texas State University, earning a Major in Geography and a Minor in Soil Science. His strong academic background paved the way for his current part-time position in Austin, where he plays a critical role in the analysis and interpretation of geographical data in the Real Estate Market.

Alongside his fiancée, Kelsey Parchman, Mac co-founded Mac’s Daqs Bar and Lounge in 2019. What started as a daiquiri bus at the Warrenton Antique Show and Fayette County Fair soon evolved into a communal hub in La Grange. Mac and Kelsey’s dedication to their community is evident in their concerted efforts to grow their business, contributing to the social and economic vitality of the area.“


Kala Gunn, Board Secretary and Insurance Agent with Fayette County Farm Bureau

Kala has spent the past 10 years living and working in the great community of La Grange, Texas. As a graduate from Texas A&M University with a Degree in Ag Business, Leadership & Development, she has an extensive background and passion for team leadership. She is an entrepreneur with a passion for growing and developing businesses! Kala currently lives in La Grange with her husband (Sam) & 2 Children (Beckett- 4 & Everly-2). Kala also started an exciting new career in April of 2022, at Texas Farm Bureau as a licensed Agent specializing in Farm, Home, Auto & Life Insurance. She looks forward to joining the Chamber, becoming a part of the new team and lending a helping hand to this great community!


Tony Brock, Board Treasurer and owner of The Ups Store in La Grange. Tony uses his 35+ years of experience in leading retail business sales, marketing and development to deliver solutions to small businesses throughout Fayette County. Tony believes that supporting your customers with quality products and exceptional, friendly service are the keys to successful retail business.

As a young man in his early twenties, Tony began his professional career with JC Penny’s in New Mexico. Tony found his passion for the western boot business while working for JC Penny’s. This led him to successful careers at ACME Boot Company, Dan Post Boots, and Cooper’s Western Warehouse. While at Cooper’s Western Warehouse, Tony began his corporate leadership career. First as a Senior Buyer of Boots, Belts and Hats, to General Merchandise Manager and then Chief Merchandising Officer. This career led him back to the great state of Texas where he was the Chief Merchandising Officer for BTWW (Boot Town Western Warehouse) who at the time was the largest Western Clothing Chain in the U.S., with over 150 locations. In 2008, Tony choose to leave the retail world and move to the wholesale side of the business by joining 3D Belt Company in Schulenburg, Texas as their VP of Sales and Marketing. By a twist of fate, Tony and 3D parted ways in 2017 and Tony moved to Fayette County.

Tony decided to take on his dream of owing his own business. Seeing the need to support small business small businesses and the growing shipping business, Tony opened The UPS Store in La Grange in June 2018 and plans to expand his business in surrounding communities.


Brandon Schielack, Board Director and Broker Associate for Bubela Real Estate

Working out of the La Grange office. Brandon started his real estate career in 2004 in Bryan/College Station by helping investment clients diversify their investments into real estate. In 2017, Brandon and his family moved back home and is now helping clients buy, sell, and invest throughout Fayette County and La Grange, TX. Brandon has the wisdom and creative eye to visualize and bring to fruition the highest and best use of any piece of real estate.

Brandon and his wife, Britney, live in La Grange, TX with their 4 children, Skarlet, Bohen, Winnie, and Jonah. They are very active in the community by volunteering with Little League, the Fayette County Fair, and The Green Door Fund with Fayette Community Foundation which helps with workforce development initiatives in the county. They are also active members of The Remnant Church in La Grange. In their free time you can find them working in their garden, helping others in their gardens, or on the golf course.

Doady Rogers, Board Director and owner of Grounding Breath

Doady is a certified Reiki Master, Sound Healer, and Yoga Instructor. She works with clients’ energy systems (chakras) to guide them in finding balance in mind, body, and spirit. She also promotes mindfulness by providing sound baths with the intention of helping people learn the true meaning of calm and find the importance of connecting with themselves. 


Her family history in Fayette County started in the early 1940s when her great-grandparents, grandparents, and mom moved to the Waldeck area to become dairy farmers.  Doady made Fayette County her official home in 2011.  She served the community as an EMT/Paramedic and Captain for Fayette County EMS for over eight years before starting her own business. She also has two sons who graduated from Round-Top Carmine High School. 


Doady joins the board with over 20 years of experience working on boards for non-profit organizations. She looks forward to helping support and grow local businesses. 

Misty Touchet, Board Director from La Grange Optimist Club

Misty Touchet (Misty Rox if you want to follow her on social media!) moved to La Grange in 1979 and has loved living in this community. Misty raised 2 boys and they are now amazing young men at the ages of 30 and 27. 

Misty graduated La Grange High School in 1995, Blinn College in 2004 with an Associates in Science, American Intercontinental University in 2014 with a BS in Accounting, and currently working on a Masters in Accounting though St Edward University. Misty has been employed at Texas One Stop of La Grange since 2015 as the bookkeeper/manager. Misty also does animal sitting for many people in the community. 

Misty is very active in the community. She volunteers at her church, New Life Methodist Church, as the Church Treasurer, as a children’s program leader, sings with the praise band, and playing in the handbell choir, Glory Tones. 

Misty is also involved with La Grange Optimist Club. She joined the Optimist Club in 2001 and has served several roles on the board. She currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer. Misty also organizes the youth sports for the Optimist Club, which includes Fall Soccer, Little Hitters Volleyball, Little Dribblers Basketball, Spring Soccer, Flag Football, and starting in 2024 Summer Track. 

Misty joined the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce in 2024 to learn more about the chamber, what it does in our community, and how businesses can benefit from being chamber members. Misty hopes to make new connections, re-energize existing relationships, and help support this amazing community even more than she already does.
