Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top — one of the fastest-growing churches in the entire denomination — just welcomed twenty new members, the largest new member class in the church’s history.

Bishop Kai Ryan traveled to the church plant in Henkel Square on Sunday, September 13th, to confirm, receive, and reaffirm the new class. While many of the new members call Fayette County home, others drive considerable distances to be part of this creative, arts-centered community known for its deep outreach into the surrounding area.

Welcoming our newest members:

Kathi Coles, Diane Walla, Greg Walla, Twyla Kingsley, Woody Taylor, Amanda Gifford, Heather Hodges, Coty Werner, Jan Petty, Scott Petty, Karolyn Mau, Sally Duncan, Suzanne Ellis, Ed Ellis, Link Livingston, Susan Ashcroft, Sandra Stevens, John Smelley, Christine Smelley, and Hannah Wier.

Building for the future

Saint Cecilia’s recently purchased 6.5 acres on Hwy 237 just outside Round Top, where groundbreaking has already begun on a new worship, fellowship, education, and concert space. The church is also widely recognized for its innovative music ministry, drawing a “who’s who” of musicians from across Texas and Louisiana.

Fifth anniversary celebrations

This October, Saint Cecilia’s celebrates its fifth anniversary with special concerts, receptions, and an Animal Blessing service on Saint Francis Day, October 4th.
